Royal Bannu Gul is the Bannu Gul family's restaurant in Al Khalidiyah: the pulao and karahi the name is known for, with a bigger table of platters, lamb and grills.
Bannu, a city in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, is famous across Pakistan for its beef pulao: rice cooked in a rich broth made from beef bones, with tender meat through every spoonful.
Ours is slow-cooked the same way and finished with melted bone marrow. It is the dish every Bannu Gul kitchen, including this one, is measured against.
Almost everything on our menu comes off one of three heats.

Royal lamb chops, malai boti, seekh and reshmi kabab, and whole chickens, grilled over live coals.

Shinwari and Lahori karahi cooked to order, and chapli kabab seared on a hot tawa.

Kandhari, roghni and garlic naan, baked fresh all day.
